Protect the Littlejohn’s Tree Frog

Protect the Littlejohn’s Tree Frog

The Hunter Transmission Project should be moved away from critical Littlejohn’s Tree Frog habitat in the Watagans.

The Watagans are a rugged, forested mountain range in New South Wales, located about 100 kilometres north of Sydney and forming a natural backdrop between the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley. Ecologically, the Watagans are an important refuge for wildlife, with intact forests and clean mountain streams providing critical habitat for many native and threatened species.

Send a message to Minister Scully asking the NSW Government to adopt an alternative route that protects this habitat.

Stop the Hunter Transmission Project from Cutting Through Littlejohn’s Tree Frog Habitat

The Hunter Transmission Project is currently being assessed by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The proposed alignment would cut through the Watagans, threatening one of the most important remaining populations of the endangered Littlejohn’s Tree Frog.

Already endangered and declining, Littlejohn’s Tree Frog depends on intact forest habitats to survive, making the protection of places like the Watagans critically important for the future of the species. It is one of the last strongholds for the species and if this habitat disappear, we could lose this species forever.

The Littlejohn’s Tree Frog cannot speak for itself, but you can help give this endangered species a voice. It only takes 10 seconds to send your message.
